Unplug Cold Feed Mod Def Works

R

Apart from the obvious increase in induction roar with the cold air feed pipe unplugged from the airbox I can confirm it def makes a difference to performance.

For last week or so have driven with pipe plugged in so I could get used to what it was like as std again.

This afternoon unplugged pipe and :-

2nd gear - above 4k def picks up better

3rd gear - pulls better through to 4th

4th & 5th - better throttle response especially from low revs

Anyone with std airbox whether your running std paper filter or an aftermarket panel filter recommend you try it - Takes less than a min to unplug and 20 secs to put back in.

I hear what your saying but the area in front of the battery on that side of the airbox is cool, a replacement 70mm feed pipe is also gonna be fed up to the entrance of the airbox, the std pipe in my opinion is restrictive, not constant diameter and is in 2 parts, one continuous 70mm pipe with smooth inside walls and a route to direct cold air as opposed std one that goes to no mans land should sort that.

After a 30 mins thrash followed by 30 mins in standing traffic on a day when it was 14 degrees outside I popped bonnet and the area directly in front of battery and opening to airbox still cool whereas engine side of airbox very warm

nah, no difference to having pipe in, the original pipe is not filtered and besides the hole in the airbox is NOT the engine side of the filter, ie whether pipe is in or not the air still has to pass through the air filter.

i dont that to my viper kit to improve my induction roar, i havent noticed an improvment yet, ill let u know tomorrow. it certainly sounds the part!!!
