Unsure about socket?

When driving i could feel my foot hitting a cable above the break pedal. When i looked there is a purple socket which isnt plugged into anything. It looks like it coming from the same loom as the break light sensor etc.
Any ideas?

think its for a switch that goes on the clutch on cars with esp mine has the same plug and its also unused

Its for cars with cruise control, you haven't got it hence no clutch pedal switch hence it not being plugged into anyway.
