Hola, been a while boys and girls. Not a massive write up, still haven't got round to doing my pre-CSS detail either! Laziness really.
This just has lots of pictures and a little video. Enjoy!
Been wanting to use C1 for a while now after playing down nano sealants for years now I saw it in action and it's a special product.
Circa 24 months protection. Harder than any clearcoat lacquer alas not as easy to damage paint with wash inflicted marring... http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exterior-coatings/c1-crystal-lacquer/ (£660 per 500ml)
In action...
With 3 layers of G1 on the windows also... http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exterior-coatings/g1-clearvision-smart-glass/
Recommended for professional use only, a friend of mine is actually in the process of moving to England to work for Gtechniq as their onsite detailer so he wanted to get mine done before he left. All good I thought.
Quick Snow Foam and wash down, wheels, tyres and trims all cleaned, mostly G101 used...
The dirt from the rear window rubbers seems ridiculous, all good now...
Onto the Correction, 1 step polish using Menzerna 106fa and 3M Yellow pad. Mixture or DA and 3M Rotary used just messing around really.
Car was 95% corrected back in July before CSS so didn't even need clayed today, easy day...
Bonnet and O/S done, after correction pre-C1...
Now at this point peeps the paint has to be wiped down completely with IPA or CarPro's new product eraser. The paint must be free from all polishing oils ect.. for C1 to bond. Unlike other LSP's where you can glaze, cleanse ect.. before using the LSP C1 needs totally bare paint to work.
Not ideal if your paintwork is quite heavily swirlled and you need a glaze to maybe mask some of the marks better to stick with the normal routine.
If the C1 is applied poorly it'll smear and set solid. It will then require either a 3 stage correction to remove or wet sanding, it really is that hard. Hence the appeal of it for protection. Make up pad used for application and super short pile MF for removal after around 30 seconds.
C1 flashing off...
G1 3rd layer on the windows. Craig doing the Carrera cup car in the background...
Keeping good company....
The actual car... Watch the video.. was his first time out in the car, in the wet!
Some after pictures! Enjoy...
Exhaust treated with the Britemax twins.. http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Britemax_Metal_Twins_8oz_Kit_1.html
My apologies about the quality of the pictures guys, wasn't even going to bother but the day was going pretty quick so took so snaps.
Cheeky video...
Cheers for taking the time to look in.
