Upgrading Clio Speakers?

  Megane
Hi all i have a standard HU with standard speakers in my ph2 5 door.

Dont want to change the 'tweeters' but i want to change all the door speakers, how easy is this? dont want to spend more than 60 quid seen the pioneer ts-g1309?? are these coaxial or component? which do i need lol

so many questions

thanks alot to all that help me through this moment of insanity lol:)

If you're only changing the door speakers and not the tweeters then coaxials is what you need, components have the tweeter and a crossover too so if its not got those its a coaxial. £60 should find you a half decent set but I've not used pioneer so couldn't say. The best advice I could give is too look for 2 things, the frequency range and the RMS power. The bigger the frequency range the better the speakers. The RMS power should ideally match the RMS output from you're amp assuming you're going to amp the speakers?

lol well if i dont amp what difference does it make? what is standard output on standard hu? can i amp the standard hu and where would i put it?

4x15w iirc lol emmence. thinking of new speakers my self but i like the standard look.

is there much point to uprated speakers without uprating the HU, since you cant amp the standard HU? I dunno much about audio but i just want less distortion.

new speakers without an amp will be a very minimal gain, if anything its better to buy cheaper speakers and an amp instead of buying decent speakers and running off the HU. I had components in my clio and it all looked factory except for the HU obviously. The HU RMS is pants, like said about 15-25RMS if you're lucky, but thats besides the point the amp helps 'control' the sound so that it works within the limits of the speakers which means clearer sound and less distortion. The HU just belts out whatever's on the recording along with the limited equalizer you have on the head unit.

riiiight, i think i get it, mine is double equalised lol, because i runa sony ericsoson walkman phone through an aux input, the phone produces a great out put when connected to speakers, and the mega base makes the windows shake over half volume, but the distortion is irritating. but i'm not sure if its the origional Blaupunct ( i thought they were meant to be good) standard speakers or the quality of the track.

I wouldnt think that would be much of an improvement.
its only has a 4X45w out put IIRC and a slightly improved clarity but i dont think its much to write home about or worth the extra you'd be looking at for one, for the price of one second hand you could get a half decent brand new head unit. and it still cant run an amp. but it can take an aux input with one of the £10 cables off ebay. the standard on cant it needs a decoder.

if it distorts through you're headphones etc its the track, if not its the speakers ;)

want to keep it standard for many reasons, dont want to faff with the standard remote or cd player, want to keep the car standard as i am thinking of selling soon. dont like aftermarket hus

hmmm, I'm pretty sure you can amp the HU but you'd have to speak to some-one else I'm pants with the wiring. I know that the HU is pretty much THE most important part of any audio install though, so if you're going to keep a sh*t HU you might aswell leave the rest aswell ;)
