Re: The New Motor

Just get some decent seats that fold. Will look odd with two different ones.

Bride low max Gias. Or similar.

Prefer a flan, tbh.

I really like the seats mate, and getting two that fold may be an option but for the time being an OEM front passenger Recaro is a good plan. They are great seats too. Will look a little odd I guess.

Re: The New Motor

Always loved this car, the red and gloss black just looks so right! Well done on getting it when it wasn't for sale :)

Great buy Neil! I'm sure it doesn't hang about either!

Re: The New Motor

Could of sold me the wheels and suspension 1st..

Nah, it had to go complete in my view. I'd spent several years getting to a state of tune and modification that I considered perfect and that worked well together. Wanted it to go to it's new owner in the same state. :)

Re: The New Motor

I feel honoured Christopher. Glad some of my Cadwell pics have appeared here too - nice to see the legend living on :D (the car, not me!)

Good pics those. Not bad for a point and shoot! ;)

Re: The New Motor

Do you feel the suspension set up was worth it?? Seeing as its tunes for a lighter car?

Mmm, in the spec that it was sold the car was weighed on corner weight scales at 1280kg. When you consider that the weight of a base R26R (without cage option i.e. strut bar only) is 1230kg, most caged R26R's will be around 1240-1250kg in reality. Based on that it's a negligible difference (a difference easily cancelled out by driver and passenger weight variances). It works really well as a fast road/track set-up. :)

Re: The New Motor

The big difference is the dampeners isn't it?? Has anyone confirmed that they are the more advanced double effect items?? Like the 200. I feel like I'm going to have to do this to mine, and the wheels. Dam you!

Increased damping rates and softer springs on the R26R. As for double effect, they looked pretty ordinary when we fitted them but who knows whats going on inside!

Re: The New Motor

Yeah, and the ITG induction kit gives a kinda wastegate chatter. Crazy.

Not particularly subtle is it?! :)

Best sounding car i've owned especially with all the pops and bangs on the over-run. :D

Is it the actuall Itg kit that's fitted? Runs down behind the battery and the filter sits in the passenger front wheel arch?

It is the best/cleanest example of a r26, hands down :)

And jaychop has just beat the stage 1 power band with a itg and fmic and hit 285bhp, just proves these cars can hit high Bhp without a hybrid :)

All the best with the ownership scutch, you'll have to meet up with me,Gray and a few others :)

Sorry should have clarified. The 275bhp that this and Grays achieved on Stage 1 was on an otherwise standard engine (No ITG, no FMIC). It's not been RR'd since so i'd be interested to know what it's putting out now. One to try Neil. :)

Yes. But instead of the standard ITG cone filter that the kit comes with, this one has a larger Cosworth ITG foam cone on it (ITG 60/67L).

Worth the price tag it has? I'm tempted by it but im also tempted by the diy itg with a 90 degree bend joined on to the boost hose and the itg cone on the end obviously. Comes to £85 which is pretty good compared to the actualy itg kit.

Worth it yes. Noticeable difference in how it holds power at the top end and imo it's a proper solution (proper routing, new battery tray, nice cool air). Not a fan of the DIY or KTEC versions as they just seem a bit of a bodge. Sure it might make ok power on the RR but add a load of heat soak (as you know the Meg engine bay gets HOT!) and then it's a questionable choice. Just my opinion obviously! :)

Totally agree it's the proper solution and yeah I can imagine the diy kit getting bad heat soak as they do get mega hot under there. Food for thought and it does look good with the shiney pipe haha.

Yes, many thanks again Chris for your input. Very much appreciated mate

As for the hanging about, yeah it's quite pokey, that's for sure. Those days are behind me now but I will admit the car is pretty damn quick!

Re: The New Motor

No more slips? :(

How is it on the driveway? ;)

Yeah the wheels definitely spin mate, especially in the lower gears. Hehe.

Got 180mph on the drive, in 2nd reverse, so it's all good ;)
