Urgent advise needed

Hi all
I'm thinking about taking my ignition barrell out and fitting a race car switch panel and having a toggle switch for the ignition and a push start button.

What i need to know is if i remove the ignition barrell would this upset the alarm causing it to have faults and go off? I'd still like to use a key for the central locking/alarm but that's it.

The alarm is just armed/disarmed from the central locking +/- signals, the immobiliser is where you'd have issues if you're planning on using the original ECU.

The reluctor (?) ring that surrounds the barrel senses the chip in your key and deactivates the imobiliser. You would need to find a way around that...

The key needs to be near the ring.

It will be some time before i get round to it so will ITB's with omex 600 be ok to remove the immobiliser or is there a separate brain?

If it is separate could i remove the standard immobiliser setup and fit a cat 1 toad alarm (and just use that fob to lock/unlock) to over come the ignition key chip problem.

There are lots of options. I think the simplest is the omex running the engine and the std ecu still in running everything else.
