URGENT - ENGINE / GEARBOX LOCKED UP

Got a car thats had new gearbox fitted and come to start the car the starter click noise and nothing. Check starter Ok and earths and then the engine and its locked solid wont move........not turned a rev since gearbox fitment.

Going to remove starter and loosen gearbox from engine to see if something in there jammed (engine / belt was fine before so dont thinks its cambelt etc.) then see if the engine will be ok to rotate.

Only things that have been fitted is new clutch and the refurbed gearbox ( input shaft rotated etc before fitment). Is there diffent input shaft lengths that could cause lock up when it fit into the crank etc.?

Any ideas?

Seems the clutch cover is fouling the inside of the bellhousing.!!!!!! mmmmmm its a Helix clutch and paddle plate.

Im confused.

No, that wouldn't lock the crank.

Is it the same box as before? Same flywheel? I've known people lock cranks up with a dowel in the wrong place and jammed on the ring gear.

Does anyone know the gap / distance from the block face the the rear of the flywheel and also to the front face of the flywheel. Just to check if the flywheel is sticking further out than normal.

Think i have found the issue.......the clutch cover has too much meat on and not been ground off enough so it just catches the inside of the bell housing and locking it up. :-(
