URGENT HELP - Car won't start!

Gf has just rang me saying her car won't start. Car is ticking over, but won't start up. Immobiliser problem? Had a similar problem with the Cup when I had it. What should she do?

It is an 05 clio.

Remember reading somewhere before about immobiliser and having to have ignition on 4 a bit then doing something, but I can't remember what.

Just done a search but can't find anything. Any suggestions??

put it in gear and start it

Tried that with no luck. Even got her to try spare key. But again no joy

Crank sensor prob gone has the car been run at all today??

At the top of the gearbox is a sensor take wire off and give it a blow

She gave up and rang the aa. It was some how flooded. Bloke tried blaming her and saying about short journey's and stuff. But she does a 10 mile journey to work and back and hasn't used it since friday. So bit confused as to why or how, but is sorted n e way.
