urgent help needed.

hi all, i have a mk2 ph1 clio 1.2 rn.

today this noise started from the fuse box area next to the passenger door, a fast clicking sound and the red light on the dash started flashing in time with it. not sure what it is.

so i'm driving home today, started the car and the rev counter wouldnt work.
got home, opened bonnet everything seemed ok with revs etc. fine, started the car up again, this time it wouldnt start it just kept cranking but not starting. then the speedo started bouncing up and down to around 70mph, this was with the key out. and also the handbrake light stayed on with the key out,

so i left it for 5 mins then the car is fine. not tried it again.

so lost with what it is and how to sort it. urgent help needed as i cant go without my car next few days due to work.

check the fuses in that fuse box , there shoul be spare fuses and a special tool to remove the fuses on the panal.
look to see if the fuses have gone black or the wire running through is whole. and replace the blown one with the same amp fuse. hopefully that will fix it and it only take 5 mins.

Does this only happen after its been running for a while and the engine warm?

the most common fault for them cutting out and refusing to start is athe TDC sensors.. Although it sounds more like an MFU style relay is at fault.

i was going to check the fuse box but was not sure if i should touch anything in there haha. the really confusing thing was that the speedo was jumping about like a r****d when the key was out.


and yes this was when the engine had been warm cause i left it on for about ten mins while i took pics...

will go check the fuse box and get back to you's
