USB to IDE? Mass storage device?

Hi. Got a spare laptop HDD kicking about and want to move my docs onto it so I can wipe my laptop. Is this what I need to do it with?

does it just come up as another drive there like a SD card would?

guessing a laptop drive is 2.5"?

Yep thats it fella.

Just shows as another Hard drive. Plug and play

laptop hdd's arent the normal IDE connection though?? or mine wasnt anyway..
