Utilising DPI

Ive never really understood DPI. I have a g7 and while i realise it changes pointer speed, does it do anything else?

Should i crank it up to 1800 or so and lower the in game mouse sensitivity? I find, esp in COD, that hitting a player over a distance can be a PITA because of the way my mouse seems to jump over a fair few pixels if that makes sense.

DPI = dots per inch. Higher DPI on your mouse the more accurate it will be, especially on a high res monitor.

So really i should crank up my DPI, but then lower my in game sensitivity?

Nice guys.

Just played a match, 2000 DPI with sensitivity turned down. MILES better. So much smoother now. Had a few matches on TDM testing sensitivity out and ive found something i can use now. Had a match on HQ pro, although i didnt bother capturing the HQ, M16 ftw, got raped though.

Before, i couldnt hit s**t, if an enemy was a fair way away i couldnt pin point him, now i can hit what i want.
