Uuuuurgggghhhhh noise, starter motor??

get a kinda uuuurrrgghhhhh noise 'occasionally' after starting my car from cold. It's almost asthough I've left the key turned too long, although I obviously haven't! :rasp: Originally did it 1 or 2 times a week, now seems to be getting more often. Would I be right in thinking the starter motor locating spring is sticking and probably needs a good clean before it knackers up? :S

Yup it is the starter.

Mine has done this since i purchased the car 2 years ago.

Had it clean and all was well for 2 weeks, then came back.


Replaced starter in the end and all was fine hehe

yeah, everyone looks as if to say 'stupid fool, keeps key turned'! lol! and i don't... becomes quite embarassing :dapprove:
