V6 255 & speed humps

Any V6 255 owners have problems with speed humps got some fairly big one in the town i live and a little scared to go over them,



dont wanna end up damaging the front lip.

my car looks very very low @ the front



going to find a empty road drive half way on and get out to see how much clearance.

on the driveway leading to my work, there is a huge speed bump and the v6 doesnt have any problems with it, although i go over it at about 1mph.

Not had a problem yet with any speed bumps that go across the whole of the road ... just take them slowly. However reckon that the sort of humps that are used for traffic calming ... rubber, square, bevelled on all sides would cause problems. Wheels would straddle a bit and hence you wouldnt get the nose up far enough. Hence I now avoid all roads with those sort of things on.

As long as you go real slow the ones across the whole road are ok, as long as the road is level and hasnt got a dip before the hump grrr

Have problems all the time, but in reality the noise is the rubber scraping the ground.

It makes you go slow over them any way.

Mk2 has no rubber strip, so the noise is worse. Seems to be quite strong though, no ill-effects yet.

no real problems, even on those calming ones youre on about and there are loads of them round my way, do drive rediculously slowly over them though.

I wonder if there is a speed bump addon for the Tom Tom navigator?

You are best on cushions (where possible) to go over with one wheel and let the other stay in the centre, on the road. My previous car was a lowered MGF and it was a real pain in the a*se (literally) to go over them. Also the bevelled cusions gradually push your wheel alignment out.
