v6 brakes!!!

Need set of rear pads for v6 renault quoted £169!!!!!! without vat!! and £240 for rear discs, anyone know anywhere cheaper as I have fuc#ed my rear disc. dan.

IIRC the rear braked on the V6 is the front end of a laguna V6.

i would check but im far too busy at the mo and earliest i can check i tonight...if im not asleep.

Zeemax, EBC do the greenstuff which is suitable for the rear on the V6. I thinkk they are around £45-£50. If you call me I can find out for you.

Thanks for the offer but due to me being skint at the mo as I have only just paid for my nitrous install, I have arranged to have the discs skimmed and I have got hold of some pads from Eurocar parts!! probably regret it but it will have to do till I get hold of some ££££££££££. Dan.

The one thing that Renault specifies RE disc brakes in bold letters in teh workshop manual is Discs are not suitable for refacing.......lol

the rear calipers are Citroen DS - just a little cheaper from there!!

Mike, I found that out yesterday as Euro parts sent the wrong pads, turns out they dont sell them for the v6 yet. Got the mechanic to phone around and got a set of rear pads for citroen, payed £30 I think, they are only temporary as I have ordered a set of Ferodo pads for the front and rear. I hear that I should not of had the discs skimmed but they only took a slither away, they seem fine.

I do have one other problem at the mo, when I had the cat removed the cat warning light has come up on the dash, also I think it has made the car run a little rich, not a problem when I am running nitrous but its costing me a fortune in fuel. May have to see if a tune up will put the light out.

Got a small power steering leak so need to take it into renault for a warranty clain also one of my engine mounts is a little iffy, I hope that will be covered by warranty too.

(ds2500) - Ive got a number of people looking into rears now but without much joy - people never really tuned up the old Citroen!!

Let you nkow if I get anywhere - could I have your dead rear for a pattern as I can get them made?

Ask at a good local independent as they can usually get generic ones which are made by the same company as the branded ones, for half the cost - or less.

get the caliper part number from AP and many friction specialists provide pads for AP calipers.
