Valver 6X9’s question...

Got some cheap sony xplods from the pikey pawn shop and im wondering wheres the best place to put em? I dont have clue about speakers etc but id assume the parcel shelf or if possible (is it?) the front doors?

Help appreciated!

lol Non existant!

I basically just have a sony mp30 and the rest is standard and TBH, a bit tinny. Needing something that not OTT (i.e subs) but is fairly loud/decent quality...

Put the 6x9s on the parcel shelf, and maybe think about some slightly better speakers for the front.

How much you willing to spend, will decide how good your system will be.....

ive put 5 1/4" mids in my rear door panels and 6x9s would have been just as easy. better sound and security than a shelf because thats the sort of space they were designed for and they dont have to compete with the sub

Ive got some kicker 6x9s in my shelf and they sound good and boom out! But you gotta fit them properly with no gaps for air to escape!
you do realise how stupid this part is dont you??

the boot isnt airtight, so no need to

unlike with a sub in an enclosure, where a tight airseal is paramount to most other things to ensure decent performance

What do you mean by rear door panels - the valver (1.8) is 3 door?! I take it you mean the door cards in the rear?

used mdf and brackets to hold the speaker in place then cut a hole in the door card then covered that with the grilles from the speakers (slightly modified) ill put some pics on if you like. 6x9 would have been just as easy just a bigger piece of mdf.
