valver engine conversion

  valver
right well basically ive been trying to sell the valver for a while and no luck. so ive decided to keep it and do a engine conversion, from what i can understand the volvo turbo engine is the best way to go for performance increase, im not going to be doing it myself as it would be way too big a project and would be without a car too long. so i want to pay somebody to do the conversion, how much will this be and who will be able to perform the job?
if anyone has any better ideas of what engines to go for in terms of performance (no silly ideas please) then im all ears.
cheers lawson.

Im doing mine. F7R conversions are a piece of piss, literally straight swap.

pick an F7R up for about £400, whack in a set of cams, cat cams, and piper 270's have good reports, looking at around 170bhp then.

well ive only looked into it quickly myself but there seems 2 be a few turbo options:
1.7 volvo engine
valver engine turbo'd
any willi engine turbo'd
the valver nd willy engine seem 2 be expensive to turbo tho so im defo goin for the volvo engine when 1 comes up :)

the volvo one is crap tbh, not a traight swap is only 120bhp standard.
the volvo motor is very strong (better than any of thet valver rubish) and you can get a mod done to the ecu that lets it run 1.0 bar (180bhp ish)
the limits of the standard internals is yet to be found there is a company in liverpool that have one to 280bhp running 24psi on standard internals with no problem, mine is running about 175bhp and it pulls like a train.

what are ems????
iv never worked on a valver! but rebuilt the engine in mine from scratch and i no wich one id rather have it my clio plus the block is stronger on the volvo motor and it puts out more torque than the valver

the block is nigh on the same. not exactly, but if you noticed its a renault block anyway...
Of course it'll put out more torque due to being a f/i rather than n/a.

ems is engine managment system, its crap as it uses a maf, which means you cant really get a decent idea of how well the turbo is working nor on any leaks...

  williams and trophy
2.0 n/a all the way imo

meg btm end, valver head. cheap way to get a decent power hike.

then head/cams. then bodies. and youl have a car that not a lot will get the better of.
