Valver security question

Car  2004 Racing Blue 182

on the standard setup, would a 96 valver have an alarm to go with the immobiliser???

i locked the car with the fob the other day whilst the missus was in it, she moved and the indicators started to flash, but no sound, anyone know whats going on???

under the bonnet... turn the siren on :) should have a key for it. Its under the flap on the right hand side as you look at the car.

er..... nope, no key!!!

are they standard fit keys??? will another valver key fit it?

couldnt tell you. Mine was a 94 so different year but it came with a small key which operated the siren under bonnet and the actual alarm under the glove box.

If you look under the flap do you have a keyhole? May have to lift a rubber niple type cover off if it has one.

nope, not got one in the glovebox, i got one under the bonnet, if u mean the one next to the windsceen water resevoir, but no key!!!

anyone help me out?

there is onefor the siren next to the washer bottle and another for the alarm under the glove box.

key should have come withthe car, you might be able to get a replacement from Renault

bugger, i hate going to renault!!

anyone got one they wanna copy for me and send me and ill buy u a pint???

-->NV

according to renault, i cant get a key for it, i need a whole new barrell for both the bonnet one and the dash one, priced at £167, then he asked if i want to order one!!!

er....... actually, i think ill just buy a new alarm, monkey!

the offer of a beer+the copy charge still stands for anyone who wants to send me a copy of a key, regardles of whether it works or not!!!

lol

the standard alarm on my 1994 valver wasnt approved, so i had it taken out & a cat 1 fitted to it for peace of mind.

to be honest for the price of alarms these days i reckon you would be best off doing the same.
