Valver service - worth changing the dizzy cap?

I'm going to be brave and self service mine at the weekend hopefully, if we actually get decent weather...

Is it worth getting a new dizzy cap and rotor?

So far I'm doing air filter, oil filter, oil, plugs, leads and coolant, but what looks like the dizzy set up at GSF (R92124?) is almost £30, which is quite a lot of money...

Is it worth doing? Current parts are maybe 20k old.

Cheers for any advice :)

Have a look at the inside of the dizzy, if it's clean and there are no cracks in the plastic, check the contacts are free from wear (after 20k I'd say it'd be ok) The same with the rotor, you can clean the tip with an emery cloth if it's gone dull. I doubt new dizzy and rotor would cost much.
Btw I've not done this this type of work on valvers but I used to remove the rotor on other older cars with dizzys if they were parked up so scallies couldn't try driving off in them even if they broke in.

Cool, think I'll have a look when I'm poking around under there.

Fortunately I live in the south of the country though, therefore don't have too many pikey scum thieving round here ;)

*touches wood* lol
