Various Clio II faults !! HELP !!

now, where do i start ?

i have various problems with my new 1999 1.2 Clio II.

1/ the wipers wont stop.
2/ the indicators dont work (or hazards).
3/ the idle drops really low, sometimes stalls and sometimes dies straight after starting (revs wont keep it from cutting out either)
4/ seat belt light is lit
5/ service light is lit

now, ive just got the car in this condition. hasnt been driven since 2007 when i believe the altenator failed. it then got towed back and sat in a fellas garage until last month and altenator and battery was fitted.

is there anyway to check fault codes manually on this model ? key on/off/reset button combo type thing ?

anyway to check the UCH ?

im hopeing its flasher relay, bad earth inside the wiper motor, connector under the seat (airbag), and a sticky idle control valve !! but i fear its the expensive UCH renault only b**s**t !!

any help, ideas or pointers appricated.

obviously i would rather sort this myself as the car isnt mobile and cant really get it to renault. if i can check the UCH myself and 100% put it down to that i would probably get a ecu/uch/key fob combo from a breakers !!

thanks in advance !!

oh really ? that would be good news and hopefuly just a few simple fixes all at once, seeing as its been sitting for few years

they seem to sell "UCH" kits (UCH, ECU, Keys etc) on the internet to fit the Clio Mk2 phase 1 (well 1999, 2000 etc.)

can you (or someone) describe where it lives ... passenger side footwell ?? and what exactly im looking for ?!

i would love it not to have one, £300 dealer only part is not appealling !!

ok, day 2 of owning the car

played with the airbag connections.
checked fuses.
removed and cleaned throttle
body
.
removed flywheel sensor and
cleaned.

airbag/service
light is off.
running better (not stalling) after a
20minute roadtest.

still no indicators. i did however find a board under the glovebox
that has about 4/5 relays. can someone please give me a diagram(or advise
locations). hand book doesnt list relays. only fuses.

wipers are working as normal, for now ?!?!?

Wipers/indicators could be down to the faulty UCH (underneath N/S Dash) needs to be a complete kit with matching part numbers / uch spec.

yeah i know a little about the UHC, was hopeing it wasnt that.

the ECU/board type thing i found has removeable relays, i have my fingers crossed it is one of them, but i cant seem to find any info on them anywhere.

can someone confirm or deny how to check if its got this UHC ? its a phase 1 mk2 1.2 8v (guy above says its not on his phase 1 172)

the board with the relays is the uch....
swap the relays around and see if that fixes the problems...

i tried switching the relays around. no joy.

there was one however that was different to the rest.

rentault list a indicator relay for my vehicle tho. never sold one in my local renault.

and i asked the guy did my car have the UCH, he said "it should do".... then said its no the same as the usual ones he sells and gave a price of "around £200" ....

is this UCH just the main relay board ? maybe the phase 1's have renewable relays and the later ones are soldered in and sealed units + are prone to failure ?

some1 on a local forum has said my phase 1 mk2 doesnt have/or has different UCH.

im going to try a scrapyard tomorrow to see if i can get a hazard switch and relay to rule/try that out.
