VDO STEERING WHEEL REMOTE INTERFACE

I have got the new VDO DAYTON MP3 PLAYER and an RC6201 STEERING WHEEL REMOTE INTERFACE the problem is that i asked at the shop if i needed to remove the dash to fit it and they said that they didnt think so b****cks.Does anybody know a web site to show you how to fit the remote interface as i have looked all over and found nothing the instructions i got with it are to put it lightly crap no words just sh*te pictures no explanation nothing there are 2 wires that it shows arnt even on it may be the same as an alpine to install so if you have fitted an alpine or similar could you help please before i chuck the piece of crap out i want my remote.

What nobody fitted an alpine remote interface rang vdo up spoke to me as if i was stupid last vdo product i buy!.A local firm said that they would fit it for £45 is this a good price?

its piss easy to do - just undo the 3 Torx in the air vent under the windscreen, the torx at either end of the dash when you open the doors and the two under the steering column, take off the top cover of the steering column - thenundo the the 2 torx holdin in the console where your speedo is then pull ur dash forwards and itll pop forwards then remove the two door strut covers and hey presto youve got a dash in ur hands

vice versa to put it back again - I just fitted one an my dash is currently held on with fook all cos Im too lazy to screw all those buggerin torx back in ;)

Well i did it took the dash out your right not that bad to do apart from them little buggers on the steering column.Shame about the remote still not working after all that just found out that i need another part after ringing VDO technical clowns.I had phoned up earlier to check on the wiring told that two wires that were shown on the poor excuse for an instalation manual where not needed next time i rang they said that the main tech bloke was busy and could i ring him on his mobile piss take i think i was phoneing birmingham to start with .Any way when after a few words i got hold of him i was told that i needed a part called an AC1101.I phoned up the robbers that were going to charge me £45 to fit it and was told it would cost 12.99+vat.I remember seeing one on the net for £4.99 +1.50 p/p so i await the part then hopefully the remote will work it better do or a sledge hammer is going to get some work to do.There i feel better now sorry to waffle on just had a bad day

FFS MAN!!! I have a sony headunit and steering remote adapter and it took me n my bf about 30 mins tops to get the dash off get it fitted and get it back on - the hard bit was drilling the hole thru the bulk head to get the power cable thru to the battery cos we couldnt be arsed taking the wipers off!
