very simple networking problem

  Rav4
Being a r****d.

I have plugged in a WGR614 to a network, (get some extra ports)

It has grabbed the IP fine through DHCP 151 range.

I have connected other pc's to this router as such.

I want the DHCP to come from the product which is providing the WGR614 an IP.

Any products attached to WGR614 are given 192.168.0.xxx addresses.

DHCP is turned off.

Advice please

why not just use a switch for the extra ports?

Router is to route packets between different networks

Haha OK, well theoretically it shouldn't make any difference if the DHCP is turned off as you say, factory reset and try again!?

lol you cheeky sod dafthead.

Just trying to use it as an extender.

Basically, the muppets when they did the cabling. Only 2 ports per user.

This is fine and dandy, 1 phone, 1 net. But when they have a bank of 4 people, 8 ports, where the heck is the printer going to go unless using a switch.

Retards, until now, they have had 1 free space per bank of 4.

lol pc world open?..........

Nothing open this time.

Just want to use the stupid router as a switch!

Damn thing, re-set it! Picks up the IP from DHCP however, anything connected to it, even if WGR614's DHCP is turned off, still dishes anything else a 192.168.1.xxx address.
