Vibration noise with revs from engine bay

  182 Trophy
I'm not sure how much of an issue it is, the car has always sounded like it - doesn't really bother me too much, but when the Clio is replaced later this year the other half will have it, and it drives her mad.

Essentially, when the engine is revving it doesn't sound smooth, but rather sounds kinda rough like there's some kind of major vibration coming from the engine bay. It could be something as simple as a heat shield or it could be a crap engine - it's on 160k miles, after all - but it does seem to pull ok.

This is compounded by a whining noise which I believe to be the PAS pump after to speaking to a few others on here.

I know it's not exactly a descriptive post, but I wonder if anyone else has had/seen something similar and point me in a direction to start looking (Fred?).

Dephaser, belts and pulleys have all been done.

I shall try and get a video.

Have you checked your fuel rail guard ?? One of the bolts sheared off of mine which resulted in a vibration under revs because it was a tad loose

That went about 20k miles ago, I simply removed it since one of the bolts sheared at the thread on the end.

A video.

It's perhaps not quite so obvious on the video - but it's still noticeable, particularly on overrun.

I'd say it was audible over 3k being more prominent the higher the revs and on overrun.

No decat.
