Victim of the dreaded exhaust flu!!

  Clio Sport xxx
Well... rotting exhaust disease!!:dead:

Noticed a blow, and upon inspection it looks like some old welds to the rear end of the centre section have started rotting through

No point trying to weld over old welds as it'll only last about a week, so it's new exhuast time, do i...

1. stay OEM (which was always my intention RE cat back exhaust) and get a Renault centre section - £165 odd + VAT iirc?

2. get an aftermarket S/S cat back 'stealth' system?

What options are out there for S/S stealth systems? i know of K-tec and Yozza systems.... k-tec is reasonably priced, but sounds rather like Saxo with a 5" Peco back box on it (from U-tube vids), so would rather not get that. The Yozza sound very nice and quite (perfect for me) but is a bit on the extortionate side IMO! But are there any other manufacturers around? Opinions welcome

I have the k-tec recessed, it has settled to a purposeful noise now rather than a boyed up job!

Standard copies are hard to come by, I know Forbes tried for ages and was'nt impressed!

I wanted a GDI stealth but missed the group buy so decided that was too much, also looked at the yozza standard one, stealth wasnt about then which looks really nice but the price put me off... Ended up getting a powerflow stealth, turned up the next day, made and fitted in a few hrs, 210 nuggets or something and its been great, my mate also has one

Yeh a custom stealth is looking more on the horizon. Just so long as i can find a place that will do one which is quiet enough. Prospeed sound quite good, but a bit too far away. Then there's Powerflow who are local, and have used once befor and did a very good job - workmanship and build quality were ace, but when i specified a 'medium' exhaust note, it was stilll bloody loud!! lol Also, i was thinking to save a bit of dosh, somewhere like powerflow could just fit a new S/S centre section because my back box is quite new.

What other custom exhaust builders are they around the south?

well my centre section officially died at lunch today. got home after noticing the blow getting significantly worse/louder on the way home. Looked under the rear bumper to find that the back box was hanging to one side, still on its hanger, but on the other side of the swinging arm where the weld of the outer skin was failing, it looked like the whole back box had just twizzled around where the weld was, i you see what i mean. So i though ahh well, i'll just spin it round and fasten the back box with something... went to twist it and... KLUNK!! the bloody thing just fell right off the centre section. Couldnt figure out how to get the back box off it's mounting in my lunch hours, so it still on, just tied up to the bumper and resting on the swinging arm lol

Good job i found that ebay exhuast when i did - arriving at work tomorrow to have done sat morning. Until then i have a rather noval exhaust note to put up with! :)
