Video Codecs for Vista 64 bit...

Guys which ones do you use and do they display thumbnails in explorer? i've used CCCP (combined comunnity codec pack) forever and it works fine but no thumbnails, looking for good alternatives.

Not on vista but ive always used klite, no thumbs though

Getting thumbs is a bit iffy some of mine show others dont.

I just use the new FFDshow tryouts. And get other codecs as needed.

hmm the workaround i got off the cccp forums is a bit lame.. you open up a 32bit app like media player classic and browse to files in there and it generates the thumbnails which persists in explorer once you quit. it works anyuway....cheers.

I'm using K-lite codec pack in Vista X64, does the trick.

I've always used k-lite codec pack dunno if they do a vista version

i had a really bad experience with k-lite, often come with trojans and virus's...that was a while ago though, might give them a shot.

I've got the K-Lite pack installed and tried to install this and it appears the K-Lite pack already installs it.

yeh normally it's part of other codec packs. If you are going to install it, uninstall k-lite first, reboot, then install ffshow.

Or you could try nimo codec pack . Not sure if it works with vista 64 , worth a try though .
