Viper filter

Removed my standard air box from my 172 cup the other day, and replaced it with a viper filter coming from the standard elbow, with a cold air feed from the end of the viper, going past the battery down to the acoustic valve pipe opening.

Since then the car sounds better, but doesn't seem to go as well as it did before? Either I have got used to the car, and it doesn't feel as quick as when I got it 2 weeks ago, or the valve is not liking the viper?

I have read about removing the acoustic valve, but would rather not. Does having the acoustic valve piped to a viper make it run less responsively?

Alot of people revert back to the standard airbox after having the Viper fitted saying it felt restrictive, I had one on my previous Cup and it felt more responsive but that could have been psychological due to the noise.
