Viper Induction Kit

Has anyone got one of these on their 182 ??

If so please can you answer the following:

1. Does is make a breathing noise ???

2. Where have you put your air intake ??

3. What are you opinions on the kit overall ??

The reason I am asking is because I have just had one fitted today and am a bit disapointed tbh ... :dapprove:

wont make a noise as its a closed unit. i have a 1.2 so cant answer question 2, but im pretty impressed, although i dont feel it is worth £200. good think i only paid £120 lol

mine does as it is left open, with the air feed sitting next to it. The cone thing is pointing straight down towards the floor in front of wheel.
This thing roars when i put my foot down.

Also does not make alot of difference without a remap.
I have a 172, but think this is still relevant.

I like it.

Yeah Tweeks fitted the Viper I expected it to sound well nice :dapprove:

There's something wrong if you dont get a noise from one. I get a right rip from mine.!! Was quieter when the cold air feed was connected but it still made a quality noise :-].....now with not having it connected folk can hear me coming a mile off !! its well good lol

Although they work better without the CAF attatched, i.e pull it off and just have it pointing at the viper

Oh and there should be a nice induction roar when you press on the loud pedal

Demon Tweeks mate, was circa £50!!!! Dual layer thermal tubing or something silly like that. I had the Green pipe also but it wasnt long enough in the end...lot cheaper tho £18 iirc.

I had one of those Green ones to begin with. I ripped it to shreads trying to feed it up through the wee hole behind the head light lol so i got a unnamed one from motorsport world.

Honest to god I thought it could... but they were like no no i can't go there :dapprove:

The only thing is though the thing that goes into the grill is red and I want a black one do you know where I could get one from ???

Just to hijack your thread, the blue pipe here, thats the one thats gone on mine (mk1 172), need a new one as the pipe that connects to the back the connection piece is knackered.

So if someone who has a nice new induction kit wants to sell me there old one, that'd be cool providing it fits of course!

Yes you should of kept the one that comes with the viper, unless they knocked some money off.

does the filter fix to anything as i've just brought one second hand with no fitting instructions:dapprove: , but there is a wee bracket in the box, but i've not even opened the bonnet to look (doin it tomorrow) any pic or just discription of where the bracket fixes to would be great

not that hard, but you are female, i have a hard enough time explaining how to do it to male people!

it envolves cutting away some plastic, and is easier if you remove the front bumper

Well the Viper for my old 1.2 16v sounded nice when the air feed was removed and placed just in front of the filter. You could hear it with the feed on but just not as much. It should be louder on a 172 though.

I suggest you just pull the pipe off the front of the Viper as it wont make f**k all difference to your performance!

BTW if anyone wants it, i've got the 1.2 16v kit for sale.
