Vista vs XP

IIRC I think banks have just moved to XP from 98 lol..

A lot of companies have just migrated to, or are in the process of migrating to XP from NT4. Can't beleive a bank would use Win98 though, surely must be NT4?? Madness if they are!

XP is fine for 99.9% of people 99.9% of time, since moving our company from NT4 (project finished last year I think) everything has been so much better/easier :)

XP is way to close to EOL for me to think it's a good idea to migrate to it..

Always the same.. by the time something gets stable, it gets EOL'd :rasp:

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Sure that's not it's design?
It's actually gone semi-sane in that it uses ALL memory all the time, and caches stuff, etc.

dunno, but it ran like a three-legged dog

Might have something to do with the laptop (HP 6710b) being a brand new model tho?

Agree with comment you've quoted - what's the point in having xGb of memory if it uses half of it?

I'd rather see all my 4Gb used than have it use a quarter of it and page the rest - it just doesn't make sense!

Bear in mind what you've been told when the next Windows threat pops up on the BBC news website or in a years time when you're asking how to remove half the alphabet that's suddenly shown up when you ran hijackthis.
