Vmaxx Coilovers

I have done a search on these but couldnt really find anything definitive regarding them. Ive got sportlines on my cup but ill be honest - I want it to go lower. Im not going to do track days, just the occasional spirited drive so with this in mind I dont want to be spending half the cars total value on suspension. Ive looked at 519 and they supply and fit these for £469.

Opinions? Can anyone find any better for a similar price?

Cheers.

If you're not doing track days mate. V-Maxx's will be fine.
Ive got Racelands on my cup, I've had them for about 7 months now and they're great!
Dont waste your money on expensive coilovers!!

Jim,

The new one has Vmaxx - you are more than welcome to take it out and see what you think before you purchase anything. They are wound down for lowz + ladies (as if) so you will have to take that into consideration, but feel free to bob over and you can have the keys.

I went there and regretted it. Cheap coilovers will make it handle worse than what it probably does now.

I've had both sportlines and Vmaxx (cheap coilovers as you describe - although not the cheapest) and would state that although the rider is bump(ier) on coilovers, the damping is better. It just feels more refined. Even wound right down, the handling is the same to be honest, no worse/better. Just my experience anyway.

Anyway Jim, I'm at home tomorrow if you're not working/can get a pass.

I wouldn't know but it certainly didn't handle any better than my standard 182 cup. No worse either though just more of a 'fight' on bumpy back roads etc.

mine were pretty high and that gave me enough issues with scrubbing so I would hate to see how they feel wound right down. All i can say is they done my head in.
how much more is it for the bilsteins say £300ish? I would deffinatly get the billies.

£300 plus fitting which is a fair chunk of money IMO.

I don't like bilsteins really. They're hopeless if you strip the car out, and there's still a fundamental issue with the front shocks wearing out/developing play too quickly. (same as H&R)

Want something high quality, get Spax. Want budget, get Vmaxx.

Got my v-maxx fitted by 519 I thought it was a good price fitted! Great for road! Yes a bit bumpy but what do you expect? Get what you pay for

Ok dude. Might have a ride down tomoz in the job car!

Lolz, You've still got my number? Txt and I'll put the kettle on.

My neighbour might clean the job car too, now that would be fun, bet those vinyls'll come off.

Do you pay your neighbour for this service?

No mate, he's an amateur detailer with OCD, which equals massive win for me.
He just enjoys it TBF and see's me lumbered with child on Saturdays, so I think takes pity.

What horse is the job car running? NOS?

Tempted by the spax there not a lot more and they look the part just not many people running them. I have been in a car with bilsteins and I loved it.
Wont be stripping my 172 anyway and adjusability shouldn't be an issue. The only thing that puts me off them is as you say the shocks wearing out early.

I hope you don't hate them enough to refuse fitting? lol

I do agree though vmaxx is best if you want to go cheap but I regretted it.

You know I don't fit new parts that I don't supply right?

Call me, I'll take you out in my Spax equiped car
