my car makes a diesel type noise once warmed up on idle then goes away once it has some revs but then comes back when the revs drop back down to idle. i had a mate of a mate look at it today and he said that he thinks it could be the variable valve controller pulley but said to come on here and see if it is a common problem so is it? the car has 105500 mile if this helps.
oh and also how much are they? i got my work to ring renault and they said £73 +vat but my mates mate said that that sounds v cheap as they can cost a few hundred quid on some cars and to check that they have quoted me a price on the right part.
