  Trophy #473
sorry for the 'cheesy' pun.

My rear disk yesterday after a very spirited run, I think its safe to say they didnt like it:

you just know you wallets taken a beating when you see the lovely packaging:

new disks and front strut top bearing set

Rear disks were long over due and both bearing are humming, one worse than the other. front strut tops are noisy all the time even on small bumps, i think the bearing is completley destroyed, but w'ell find out when I fit them.

you bought disks from renault?! whyyy!

Because they come with the whole shebang, bearings and abs ring fitted.

Undo sliding brake caliper, undo hub nut, disc off, clean stub and all the stuff you cant normally see, reassemble putting that little flange washer thing on the right way round first, new hub nut on, reassemble caliper with new pads et voila'!

NB no new pads in picture?

The Renault disks are awful IMO. It's almost like they paint a metal finish over the top, which just flakes off. My dad got me some front discs, and pads for trade price (£50) from somewhere local and they're the best I've used yet.

I got the disks from GDI, as they were cheaper than Renault, disks are so worn and are about 5mm thick so were bound crack, rear brakes dont do much anyway so std renault items are fine for another 50k.
