Want a good sound

Does anyone know what would be the best buy for my 05 plate 1.2 16v i know its not quick or that but really im just wanting it to look and sound good. I was originally thinking about an air filter or an exhaust but dont really want to spend lots of money as im wanting to focus on the styling of the car. So really any ideas would be apreciated

also i had a cone air filter on my 1.1 pug 206 just put straight on to the original air hose it sounded good but after a couple of weeks it ended up just sooking in all the rubbish of the day and started off a number of problems with the engine. needed new fuel injectors and spark plugs and the whole intake system needed completely cleaned out. .....Not wanting to go through that same hassle again

if you want it to look good, get a kit for that car and engine rather than a universal fit, you should get propper fitting kit then

Thanks for the advice. i think ill stop buying cheap universal parts. they just seem to cause nothing but bother

Keep the filter, just see about getting some silicone hosing to relocate the cone to a colder part of the engine bay. Search for the new k-tec 182 induction kit for ideas.

Not got the filter any more now. sold it for more than i got it for but ill have a look on the web for some proper kits

I bought a K&N 57i Induction Kit for £60 brand new. Not gunna lie; don't expect any huge power gains from it, an improved throttle response is the buk of it.

However the engine noise has become a lot nicer! Especially between 3k-4k

Sounds good tbh. have you had any problems with it ? might go have a look for one on the net
