Yup what I got told this morning from Hendersons - its booked in - in the morning - he told me when I had my timing belt done that whoever had - had the previous work done on the car (the timing belt before but Im not very trustworthly so I got it done again as I had no Printed proof!) had done this and that my tensioner pulley (?) might be damaged - hes gonna charge me £12 all in! who said valvers were expensive?!Quote: Originally posted by Ben H on 01 December 2003
Itll be the auxillary drive belt that drives the alternator and so on. Its pretty well hidden on the cambelt side of the engine and can be adjusted on an adjuster pulley. TAKE NOTE!: the adjuster pulley must be untightened with a spanner before using a large hex key to adjust the tension - many garages/people dont notice this and end up rounding the hex hole. This procedure normally requires the removal of the headlight.
Buy cheap, buy twice as they say. Did the £1200 price tag not make you think?Quote: Originally posted by fcuk1_6 on 29 November 2003
