Warrenty Question!

My car had its 18,000 service other day, and i had told them about a knocking problem that had started in the week before. They said they would look at it after the service!
Got a phone call from renault asking if had been in an accident before, and i said no, Ive had it 4 months and had an HPI check when i bought it, and ive not been in an accident since!

They said i need a new hub, hub flange, bearin n top mount and they wont do it under warrenty because they suspect its been in an accident! And they said that they could tell it had a new wing because it is a slighty different shade to rest of car!! Ive never noticed it b4!

Told them not to do the work and ive got it back now, they wanted £380 for the work.

Should this be done under the warrenty?? Any help would be great!

if you can track who did the repairs if it was in an accident then it should be under warranty from them. I would try and contact the previous owner....

If you can be certain it hasnt been in an accident then try another dealership...

Feel for you mate... it is never nice finding stuff like that.

Is there any way an accident wouldn't show up on HPI? Perhaps if they didn't go through insurance and police weren't involved?

That's s**t, hope you can find out what happened. I think trying to contact the previous owner would be your best bet.

HPI only shows theft, finance and total loss. Accidents were the car is repaired dont show, unless the insurance have paid out the full value of the vehicle.

it usually works on a 70% basis.

I.e new 182 with value of 12k, can have repairs upto value of £8400 pinds before the insurance would right it off.
