Wash Mitts

  M135i
I need a new Wash mitt, i was just wondering if there is much difference between all the different makes out there. Ive got a £20 halfrauds voucher so had a look on their website and apart from halfrauds own brand there was only Meguiars Wash Mitt. Is there much point in shopping around for different makes ?

prob all come from same factory tbh, make sure you clean it after use and rinse it properly before you use it first time

I had a Halfords wash mitt. Lasted me around 6months before it started to fall apart. I'd have one again seemed pretty decent to me and price wise it wasnt bad either. Around £7 if i remember right

I prefer the Meguiars wash mitts with the mesh on the back , Halfords sell them and it's last me almost 3 years with lots of use . The ones from serious performance are too thin when loaded with water , i use this one on my wheels ;)

Bump or no bump - one of my mitts fell apart on Monday and the other is soon to follow

Both SP Grey ones

Megs last me nicely lad. Monza car care on ebay. Think it was something like £8 delivered to my door but can't remember.

Had Megs ones (with bug mesh) before I got those - they lasted about 3 months back in the day when my car was Black - pearl, not filthy ;)

I use a Tesco £1 MF/bug mesh mitt for my alloys and it has lasted longer lol :star:

The Tesco one? The MF side is only used on the face of the wheel, I use the brush for the rest :)
TBH the wheels need to come off soon anyway and get a proper detail & armed with some seal

I've bought a EuroW one, looks good quality - yet to use it though as my cars only just come back from the bodyshop.

I previously had a meguairs one, but didnt really rate it that much, so i'll use it for my wheels I think!

Ah is this for the wheels lad? I thought you meant proper ones for paint work.

TBH I buy the megs one and once they have served their time, I move them to wheel duty!

wookie is ment to be good but you might need a smaller one for sills and lower down so it doesnt drag on the floor. I have the megs one with the mesh on the back. Im not too impressed tbh its not great and its going bald. My sonus one is much fluffier doesnt lose hair and the outside is sheepfluff and inside is sheepskin stuff so you can use cold or hot water and you can hardly feel it.

I ordered a pair of what is very-like those Eurow mitts off Ebay for £10 :)
then found my spare SP (Grey) mitt I had in the detail box - so I used that last night for the weekly wash

Overall I use
the Tesco MF mitt for my wheels
2 seperate mitts for the car - one for the top down as far as the height of the arches and the other for the rest of it ;)

Of the sheepskin mitts, personally I think the Sonus Ultimate ones are best without the thumb. They are made from less pieces of skin so less chance of falling apart and have been really fluffy lately.

Dam it's big and soft! Works really well with a grit-guard and some Duragloss :)

Only flaw in it was the elastic in the cuff gave up when it got wet :S
