washed car this morning and problems occured

as above i recieved my membership pack this mornin so thought id give the car a clean and sort out my headunit. well after the wash and put in new headunit i started the car up and it idled about 1.5k and wouldnt rev above 3k i have 2 warning lights on the dash they are Electronic and preheating warning light and warning light for monitoring exhaust gas????????????????????????? help needed asap please

Thats in limp mode. Either got something wet or you'll have to get the codes read.

any idea what the solution might be????? was thinkin of removin battery for while and seein if car still finds fault when put back in. thought i may have blew a major fuse or somethin when i wired up the speakers to the headunit loom??!!???

worth trying taking the battery out, and check all fuses and go from there ide say.

did you clean the engine bay? Sounds to me like you've got something wet so its gone into limp mode.

well i opened the bonnet and the fuse box doesnt have the lid on it so may have got it wet gonna try takin the battery off

you checked all the fuses in the fuse box as well then. check the connections arn't damp still as well.

bit of an update the electronic fault and preheating warning light has gone off so assume just got somethin wet!!!! but the warning light for monitoring exhaust gas light is still on??? any ideas thinkin lambda sensor or maybe just a good thrash
