Washer jets not instant

As above, my washer jets take a couple of seconds before the screenwash comes out, i can hear the pump going as soon as i pull the stalk though, my old 1.2 was instant is this normal for sports though, i am driving a ph2 172.

I filled it up yesterday but it does seem to act like it is low

maybe theres a block in the hosing? take the tubes off from the rear of the bonnet and see if the water comes out, if it does then it cud be the jets

edit: my bad, misread title I thought he was on about the headlight washers .

Mine did that, got a new motor for about £18 I think it was, may of been euro car parts.

They aren't really that awkward to change. Can do it in half an hour easy. Cheap too. There's a guide on here somewhere, the plastic bit inside the motor probably has a bit of grit in it blocking it or it's just on it's way out. Easiest just to buy new one for the price.

Just make sure when you're trying to get your passenger wiper off you don't try lever it from underneath on the scuttle panel. The windscreen goes down further than you think. I put a lovely crack in it about half a foot long trying to get mine off. Luckily got a new windscreen with insurance for £50 :rasp:

right i have taken it all to peices and put it back together, i reckon it is the pump but i think swapped the screen and headlight washers by accident so now at least my screen ones work but the drivers side headlight washer is a bit rubbish but it could just be air in the pipes

Do all the washers work off the same pump? My windscreen washers have stopped working but the headlight and rear washer are fine
