washing engine / bay

Car  2004 clio 1.4 16v
popped the bonnet of the clio last nite when fitting the new system, noticed it was canny dirty, are clio engines safe to jet blast, with De-greaser ?

aye will have to, dont want to short something out, want be doing it anytime soon, weather ait the bes...

Spray all the parts with de-greaser then agitate with a small brush, wipe all parts down thoroughly until clean with warm soapy water, dry all areas, polish any metals i.e aircon pipes etc, treat all rubber hoses and plastics with rubber and plastic restorer, use carpet cleaner on the carpet at the back of the engine bay and give it a scrub then a hoover, then give it a last spray over and wipe down with a quick detailer.

This may not be the correct method but it works well for me.

Last time i hosed mine down i ended up with alot of problems. Water in beside the spark plugs causing it to run on 3. Had to get some blue roll in a socket and dry it out.

I wouldnt dare use alot of water again! Just some degreaser and a damp cloth

i know what you mean mate, i have had a misfire on a cylinder, so blasting the engine not a good idea, just going to have to be some elbow grease n a tooth brush.
