HAHA i not a pussy! if all u guys think 35mm is still not gonna be that low ill definately go for more im just trying to decide by how much exactly. So with like say 40mm or 50 be better?

If you drop 40mm or less then you only have to get springs and not new shocks also. However if you went to 60mm then you would need the shocks also becuase the springs would over stretch when going over speed bumps etc if you kept standard shocks.

Go for 40mm, it tightens the gap between wheel and arch nicely and also if you ever want a new front bumper, like a bodykit bumper then you should still be able to get over speed bumps if you go to a max of 40mm.

Wel i will be probably going for some sort of body kit in the future provided its stylish and not chavy/neddy so 40mm sprngs would tighen gap on my 17s and also leave enough room for body kit u all reckon?

I'd learn to drive before I started mucking about modifying a car, hence why the insurance companies will charge you a fortune if you do!

Ye man ill hopefully get some pics up reasonably soon.

I am quite an confident driver but I totally understand where ur coming from. I am not heavily modifying my car just now. Basically just want it looking half decent as i think it looks to high and silly with my 17s on it just now and therefore thought getting it lowered would be a gd option.
Doubt ill do much else to it just now until I am more experienced driver and insurance is cheaper.

Yeah 40mm will cover it perfectly, will look neater. without lowering looks like its on stilts, so good option

Ps. go for apex 40mm drop, best you'l find for price, and drop.

only saw 2 springs on my front two tyrs and none really on back so does that mean its mk2 phase 1? and will 40 mm be ok if its phase 1 still?

You can lower about 70mm (I'm going here on realy number not the numbers people make up peopel fotenc liam to be lowered 60mm wheras its realy 40~50) on stock shcoks Ok they won't be a good ride and springs are custom made but they will fit.

Springs calim to lower by whatever amount doesn't matter they never lower as much as they claim and I'd personally never botherchnaging just springs springs and shock give a much better ride.

As for lowering I had mine lowered 60 at the back and about 50 at the fornt on coilovers (it was a 60mm advertised kit) and it went over speed bumps etc fine no problems on stock wheels.

If y car is this body type http://www.caradisiac.com/media/images/le_mag/mag253/occasions-clio-3big.jpg

Then you don't have rear springs if its like this

Most peopel don't buy shocks as well your damper will wear out quicker how quick depends how you drive and what you'll accept as worn.
