water pump Q

i got a 172 on a 02 plate im getting my cam belt done soon, do i need to get my water pump done aswell??

I was advised by Rentech that its not necessary.

Its rare that they fail in a big way. If its whining when cold or your loosing water slowly then get it changed, if its working fine it can wait another 36k for the next aux belt change.

not necessary to change it unless there's an obvious fault noticed when changing the belts.

as said, rare for them to fail.
