Water Pump

Just had my cam belt done on my 172. Only now realised I should of had the water pump done. Whats the life expentancy of water pumps? My car is 4.5 years old and has done 50k miles, cheers

hard to say mate. if theres any play in the water pump or its leakin then it wants changin... might last 5 more years might fail tomorrow

I thought the water pump was driven by the aux belt??

It is but you need the cambelt off to change it iirc.

:S errrrr i would have changed it when doing the belt, every 5 year old renault i have done cambelts on always seems to have a leaky water pump, no matter what the miles
