Water temp gauge

[low 16v]

My water temp gauge is sticking so i want to put an aftermarket 1 on the dash. how easy is it to wire up do you just splice into the loom and run the new wires to the dial.

im ok running the wires i just need to know where to pick up the feed?

Ive heard all a sticky dial needs is some paint thinner on the niddle spindle to get rid of anything stopping it moving freely.

What does every1 else think?

Check the connector on the back.


I had this problem on my 5 Turbo and removed the connector and wiped the connector on the rear of the guage with a clean cloth and it worked again.

Dont know if cleaning the connector really helped, it may have just been the act of removing the connector and re-connecting that started the guage working again.

Renault electrics have a mind of their own, it may be worth doing.
