Waterpump and belts changed now drinking coolant and making a rattling noise at high

  1.2 16v
I had my timing belt, aux belt and waterpump changed on saterday, Since then it has went through a tank of coolant and makes a wierd rattling noise under revving, been told its pinking? Taking it back to the garage tonight but was wondering if anyone knew anything so I could go in informed before they try to sell me all sorts of cures etc. Plus theres no water under the car when its been stood still running so not sure if it is water pump gasket or not?
Its a 1.2 16v
Cheers

If its losing water but not leaking it might be the head gasket.
Especially if the old pump was leaking?

but could also be they didn't bleed it properly and now its settled it will be fine.

Was the pump changed as routine or was there a failure?

Routine, everything was fine but my aux belt had a split in it and had no history so got it done to be sure nothing has leaked in the 18 month i have had the car

Try topping it up first. It might not have lost any, might just have been an airlock.
Keep an eye on it closely though you don't want to let it overheat.

Any idea about the rattling noise at higher revs? Sorry about the questions just dont wanna go in n end up getting bullshitted into spending more money

Hard to say without hearing it. If its low on water it could be getting hot at the top end of the engine and causing pinking or it could just be a loose bolt rattling. Does it only do it at full throttle? Its uncommon for a car to pink on small throttle angles.

It does it at higher revs say 4k upwards, but done it while the coolant tank is full and when the car is hot and cold dont know if these means anything been told it could be just the cams slightly out?

Why do you keep going on about rpm when I ask you about throttle angle?

cause i dont know what throttle angle is hahaha

The throttle is the pedal you press that makes the brum brum noises.
If you are at 4k rpm but only slightly pressing the throttle, does it still rattle or only when you have the pedal pressed down a lot.

ah right i get you I thought you meant something else does it when foots pressed down, not when holding revs

Sounds a lot like it is pinking then from your description.
I would get it back to the garage ASAP.
