Wax for black

  Clio MK 4
Need a new wax for a black zs. Currently using R222 but fancy a change.

I've read good stuff on Swissvax Onyx but the price puts me off. I don't want to spend more than £30.

Is Collinite 476 good? Any of the Dodo juices waxes worth a go?

Cheers

I bought some collinite 476 (I'm sure it's that) off of V1NNY from here the other week, and I was chuffed at how easy to use it was. I've got a black Mk2 ph1 an it now looks stunning, if I do say so myself.

That said I'm no detailer, and haven't used any other wax - I just want something to keep my car looking nice and clean and isn't a pain in the anus to use. This is that.

I use a sealant on mine, result:

Picture isn't the greatest, but I'd definitely reccommend it. Very easy to work with.

Onyx is only £40 is it not?

For cheapness ou won't find better than onyx for finish.

Dodo waxes are awesome aswell find one for dark colours, purple one poss £30.

476s is supposed to be awesome mate

how about AutoGlym HD Wax? can get it for less than £30 on ebay.

£40 will get you onyx that would be a nice place to start,
476 is also fine for black if you want to spend under £20 on a wax.

Purle Haze and Blue (something) from DoDo are brilliant for my BG.
I some times do haze with R222's or one of them with a sealant just before.

Dodo Blue Velvet.

I dont get all this "which is the best one after 476" malarky.

Any "cheapo" wax is going to do the job IMO.

You aint gonna notice much difference, finish wise, between 476 and something like onyx. Durability maybe but not finish.

Just IMO

I have 4 different types of wax and cant tell the difference (BLue Velvet, 476, Nattys Blue and Chemical guys 53)

I do want to try onyx out though!

All in the prep work mate.

476 will outlast anything imo.

It's more petroleum based tho.

Just so you know, I'm not being a cnut.

If you have to ask which wax for a certain colour, the only difference you will notice is the price.
