Ways to tell if the rear bearings are going

  Megane 225 F1
Right so I'm suspecting my rear bearings are on their way out as I get a drone that comes from the back of the car that increases with speed. I also get a squeak from the rear brakes when I am driving hard and braking hard.

Before I shell out £100 + on new discs and pads, are there any other causes for this drone and are there any other ways to tell that the bearings are dying.

Nope will be bearings mate. Had the exact same thing. Heard nothing until i got up to about 50-60 then I heard a droning.

IIRC you can tell by jacking up the car and seeing if the rear wheel has any play in it when you wobble back and forth.

Mine comes on a lot earlier than that. I'd say around 30-40 :(

FFS this isn't how I wanted to spend my bonus :(
Cheers buddy.
