Post pics of your track dedicated clio, where you live, your regular track and your favourite track.

I’ll start;

Based in Bristol so I’m always up at Castle Combe in the car but done a few days around the country in the van.
My favourite track so far is Oulton Park.

The 182 converted Kangoo van (although this is being put back on the road next week - it’s too costly for me to have two track cars) it’s

and the Clio; (Mk1 shell with 172 running gear)

I’m based 10 miles out of Oxford, but like Daniel my local track is castle Combe having driven there many times over the years.

Obviously this Clio is new to me for ‘22 but I’m looking forward to getting out in it! Looking like my first one will be Donington in February.

Favourite track is snetterton for (200 or 300 not fussed) did my first ever race there and have always had a lot of success, although strangely only ever done a track day there in an x85 Clio cup car.

This thread has been a nice wake up call for me. Last track day was Donington in March 2020 just before the pandemic hit and then the arrival of my second daughter in October of that year just put a stopper on my little track car hobby. It’s currently tucked up in the garage on a trickle charger and barely gets my attention at the moment.

My local circuit is Silverstone which is only one mile from my house being that I live in the village. (Shock… I’ve not driven it… yet…) mainly due to crazy prices for a summer weekend day as well as hearing mixed feedback about how a small French hatchback covers ground on an FIA approved international GP circuit. But I do need to tick the box regardless as I live here and it should still be fun.

My favourite track I’ve driven so far is actually the full gp circuit at Bedford. Probably because I’m fairly new to it compared to others on here but the
Few times I’ve been the weather has always been great and the mix of fast and slow corners as well as straights makes it enjoyable.

(Now heading off to book a track day!)

That doesn’t surprise me @Daniel as the track days that I’ve seen taking place there are for some proper high end machinery so what’s £600 to those guys.

Fingers crossed something comes up later this year maybe.

I can see the Silverstone business model transferring over to the rest of the MSV circuits eventually.

Be w**k if it happens!

Based in Gloucester so my local track is Castle Combe. Have also done Llandow and plan on doing a few others now the car is up together. Favourite track is the ring, done 3 trips so far 2 of which have been with the Clio and another booked for April 2022 and another one later in the year.

MSV buying it?
No no.

It’s just that obviously MSV do trackdays themselves anyway. There’s really no advantage from what I can see to having a TDO rent out the day - other than a guaranteed income.

Bristol must be a fair jaunt to Donington! 😂
You should try Oulton instead. Bet it’ll knock an hour off your journey, and it’s a much better track

:)It's about 140 ish miles so not too bad. I do want to try Oulton but that will be even further than Donington and require an overnight stay.

Ignore me. I kinda forgot how much further north Oulton would be for you 😬

There’s a banging B&B we stay in for Oulton. Owner’s a proper petrol head and he’s got a really secure driveway so big that you could park 10 arctic lorries on it. Literally 5 mins away too.

Nice thread.

I'm based in Klazienaveen in the Netherlands, so my local tracks are Assen and Zandvoort, and close to me across the border Meppen. Don't really know which is my favourite, Assen has a nice flow, and Zandvoort has some challenging sections.

Although it's just a 3 hour drive, I've been to the Nurburgring only once, and it didn't go as planned, due to multiple reasons, so I'm not really hooked on the ring like many others at this point.
I'm planning/hoping to add Zolder and Spa to my tracklist this year, and Bilsterberg and Nurburgring again in the future.

My car is track focused, and I'm still developing it. During the winter I added a Gripper diff, so looking forward to seeying how that works out.

This is my 182, not sure about the stripes but I’m a bit nervous about what I’ll find below them!

I’m from Nottingham so my closest track is Donnington, favourite track is probably cadwell after going there for the first time last year. Trying some new ones this year so maybe that’ll change!

Loving this thread. The pics are a real inspiration, I'm hoping to make a start in hillclimbing this year, and if everything falls into place hope to share pics etc of my endeavours! :)

It's not a track clio, just a scruffy old clio i like to take on track.
I'm based in Cambridge, so my local tracks are snetterton and bedford, I've also been to Bedford a couple of times. Oulton, Donnington and Anglesey are all on my wish list.

The lack of Mk3's makes me sad

That would be the obvious choice now for a budget track car base if I was to start again but at the time I bought the 182 mk3’s we’re at a premium and they just weren’t worth the extra dolla for what they bought to the party, eg a better chassis but let’s not turn this thread into a mk2 vs mk3 track car debate 😂

Nowadays with ‘good’ condition 182’s prices increasing and 197 prices low a 197 would be a good bet, that’s assuming you don’t buy car which is already sorted, which is always the cheapest way to do it, but where’s the fun/learning in that.

My little Clio 172. Few shots from a very rainy sprint event at Three Sisters. My local/favorite track however is Oulton Park. Planning to be at Oulton a few times this year.

And a more recent photo on its new wheels and tyres. Going to test out Nankang AR-1's. But staggered so 205's up front and 195's at the rear.

I’m based in the North East, North Yorkshire and my local track is Croft Circuit. My favourite track is Cadwell Park as i have family down there but getting lazy now and can't be arsed to do the 6 hour round trip unless it's for a special day.

My car is a Clio 182 which has been built to the same spec as my friends race Clio 182 which competes in the Trackday Trophy. Goes like s**t off a shovel and i've only really just learned to master it in the last few seasons.

I'm knocking on 60, well 58 this April, and still think i can mix it with the young ones out on circuit 😂

Already got 3 dates booked at Croft and will probably end up doing another 3 unless there's a compelling reason to go further afield.

My favourite shot below as it seems the only one i can find that wasn't taken on a potato.
