you will probably all laugh at me but sod it

right i do not know anything about computers or web cams but was wondering can you get some kind of web cam which i can set up in my window and use it like cctv to watch the cars on my drive at night lol? using my laptop.

if so would somone care to explain thanks

Yes you can get what they call a IP camera's (webcam is a different type of camera)

The camera's go on your network (wifi and wired depending on which one you get) just like a printer.

You then install the software and you will be able to view the camera on any computer o your network. Most camera only work with windows and there are very little that work with Mac's (OSX)
