Web Coders

  meriva vxr! really ;-)
Can anyone point me in the direction for some code for putting a photo uploader into a webpage - just needs to enable a person to upload photo's to our server, not actually do anything with them - is for the order form that is part of this site i've just built www.myweddingwebpage.co.uk
I'll then build their site by using the text and photo's they've supplied

im sorry but trying to get people to pay you to design a website for them when your business website looks like that ! especially when there are free content managed sites out there. anyway i provided him a link to a simple php upload script :)

Well I wrote an entire custom photo content management system with multiple uploads, watermarking, membership etc... took ages and I know what I am doing.

I don't have the time to do it, but presumably you are going to pay whoever does the custom upload script for you.. seeing as you are going to profit from their work.

I really would have a re-think about your website though as any normal person would walk away after seeing it.

once again thanks for the "helpful comments" maybe i should change the thread to "what do you think of this website"...

I've followed the walkthrough but i think it produces a simple code and my worries would be how would you stop anything malicious being uploaded to the server?

Obviously this site hasn't had £1000's spent on its design and you are kinda assuming it's goal is to sell websites without any idea of why its been designed/developed...

Crazy me i thought someone helpful might be able to say - check this link there is the code you're after
(obviously i appreciate full blown picture applications custom designed in the uk costs loads - however ready made code is also availbale for around $100 from the US and no doubt for around $30 from a freelance friend from the india region!)

i suppose my worry is your website looks like that and you cant find an upload script your self on google, so i must admit i am slightly intrigued by how good these websites will look that you plan to charge 300 for. by the way most photographers will host the photos for you them selfs certainly the ones we talked too did

i can find hundreds of scripts - i just have no experience on which ones are reliable and safe to use - hence i thought someone who does this all the time could help by pointing me to a good script - as it is i'm still trying to find something that will do

btw my business site is actually www.galtonandrostance.co.uk which you can feel free to pm me any comments on

ROFL! :rasp:

Do you know what the funniest thing is i actually typed the wrong address! site i've done is www.myweddingwebpage.co.uk ! I was looking at that site as part of market research and while getting my head round coding put the wrong address down - kinda explains the comments above, but yeah i can see why people would be worried about paying for it!
I know my site isn't pro designed to the extent £6k spent would get you but it is a bit better than the mis linked one i put!

Hmm, Its slightly better..

BTW. You have <title> tags in your main page twice. You should really link all your CSS in one place and give your div tags proper labels..
