Weighed the cup

  Italian 3.2 V6
this is confusing now lol, im reading too deep into it. all we need to know is the un-sprung weight factor formula...

example below..

8 (total un-sprung weight lost) x >?< (un-sprung weight factor) = x amount ? (equivilent to total body mass loss)

p4ers its so unbelievably complicated its untrue. there is also no fixed ratio for it. Best way to think of it is like this:

Losing weight from a car from anywhere = good

Losing weight from unsprung weight = good for same reasons as from body but ALSO helps to impove handling as suspension can react with less resistance.

:( should i just stick to the more simpler example lol

standard 172 wheels weigh ~17kg (each, with tyre)
5x17=85

lightweight 15" ultraleggeras ~9kg (each, with tyre)
4x9=36

36kg -85kg =49kg

total loss of 49kg

finding the offset and pcd seems to be hard work. need 5x108 et 50ish for an 8x17.

turini is coming out in 8x17 et60 soon so that should be good. will weigh 8.6kgs when released. not that light although still 2kg a corner lighter than oe.

i had my heart set on the lotus exige cup260 wheels (google them, they are forged and look great!!) they are pro race 1.4g's but only come in lotus offset which is a shame :(

All, thanks for the wheel help, Im still confused but wheels are one of my later things!! Need to finish where Im at at the mo!!

where did you get those wheel weights from :S

15" oz ultra at it's lightest offset weighs a shade under 5kg's, you'll not find a single road tyre in 15" that weighs 4kg's, most 15" tyres would weigh around 7-10kgs
so your looking at 12kg's minimum and thats being optomistic.

Reallistically most 15" wheel/tyre conbinations weigh as least 14kg each

even the light weight 13" race wheels and slicks i used to run on the single seater weighed more than 9kg (10.5kg to be exact)

I agree weight can be saved from careful choice of wheels and tyres, but you'll be looking at approx 10kgs max in like for like size change between all 4 wheels/tyres.

  In between cars....
I took bio-hzrd to my work to weigh his car

Cant for the life of me remember what it came in at

With the majority of weight being removed from the rear Kev are you not worried how this will effect the handling?
