weight issues.

Car  Clio 1.2 16v
when i took my Wheels of the otherday to clean them it noticed the weighd alot compared to steel wheels, and 4 of my alloys are extremly heavy

would this slow my car down any aswell with them being 17 inch,
surely smaller wheels turned more eg at 3000 Engine RPM smaller wheels will be doing more rev's to bigger wheels?

is that theory correnct or is it the otherway round?

looking for a little more power from my lil 1.2

thanks guys

Big heavy wheels ruin acceleration, deceleration, ride and handling. It's more mass to speed up, more mass for the brakes to try and rain in and more mass for the suspension to try and control. A lot to be said for running sensibly sized wheels.

yes mate, look for some rally style wheels, ie speedline's or some compo's
theyre lightweight and youll probabuly notice the difference

i have got 17" +100 alloys ATM dont know if anybody knows anything about them? but they seem really heavy, i think im going to put some steels on untill i can afford a decent set of speeldlines of something..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can buy alloys that are lighter than steels? Other than maybe magnesium rims (which last 5 mins)

team dynamics or speedlines do some good lightweight wheels, 15s are the best size for normal use imo and cheap tyres too!

i dont want alloys lighter than steels just not as heavy as my current alloys, where slowing my car down dramatically...

should i be looking at 15" or 16"?

ok i have done some research

im going to just put some 15" steelies on untilli can scrape together cash for some speedlines 15"

how much would i be looking at to buy a set of 15" steels with tires?

is anybody wanting rid of some on here?
