Weird brake problem..

Right, a weird one.

On a 1997 Nissan Almera 1.4 (weapon.)

When driving sometimes, the brake pedal goes tight (exactly the same as when you pump the pedal without the engine running.) and the front left brake sticks on..

I can't work out why..

It's only when the engine's hot, and in slow/medium traffic. The slightest touch of the pedal puts you through the windscreen..

Any ideas?

caliper sticking id say mate, when was the brake fluid last changed too?

Ages ago, I'd imagine, but the levels are all fine..

Hope it is something as simple as a caliper clean-up..
